Archie Bongiovanni is a Harvey and Ignatz nominated cartoonist and illustrator living in Minneapolis. Their graphic novel, A Quick And Easy Guide To They/Them Pronouns was published with Limerence Press/Oni Press and has been praised by School Library Journal (starred review), was a Publishers Weekly Favorite Reads of 2018, a 2018 Chicago Public Library Best Book Of The Year for Teen Nonfiction and one of YALSA's Great Graphic Novels For Teens. Their next graphic novel, Grease Bats, published by Boom! Studios, was a Mosaic Award Finalist in 2019. Grease Bats is an ongoing serialized comic that is still being printed monthly on Autostraddle. They're the author of the YA book History Comics: Stonewall, published by First Second and the author of an unannounced YA graphic novel by Maverick/Mad Cave. Their most recent comic Mimosa has been nominated for multiple awards. Bongiovanni is a 2020 Tin House Summer Workshop Alumni, a 2019 Next Step Fund awardee, a Jerome Hill Fellowship Finalist and a Minnesota State Arts Board Creative Support Grant awardee in 2020. Bongivanni’s work has been featured in The New Yorker, The Nib Magazine, Vice and Electric Literature. Bongiovanni is currently working on their next original graphic novel, Unhinged, published by Surely Press.
